Privacy Policy

1. What we collect
- Account information: name, email, and password (stored as a salted, hashed value — we never store or can see your actual password).
- Listing information: your home's address, city, property details, and estimated value, plus what you're looking for in a trade.
- Activity: posts, comments, likes, messages, and reports you submit.
- Technical data: IP address (used only for rate-limiting against abuse, not tracking).
2. How we use it
To run the matching engine, show your listing to other users at the privacy level you choose, operate the social feed and messaging features, and protect the platform from abuse (spam, brute-force login attempts).
3. Who can see what
Your exact street address is never shown to other users — only your city and, if you choose to share it, your neighborhood — unless you explicitly opt to reveal your exact address after a match. Your display name is visible to other users on posts, comments, and matches. If you apply to be a vetted agent and choose to upload a license photo, only you and Amico Haus admins can view it — it is never shown to homeowners or other agents.
4. Data sharing
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with third parties except services necessary to run the platform (such as hosting and, if configured, email delivery for account verification and notifications).
5. Data retention and deletion
You can delete your listing at any time from the app. To delete your account entirely, contact the site administrator — this removes your account, listings, posts, and messages.
6. Security
Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2 and a unique salt per account; we never store plaintext passwords. Sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies. Login and signup attempts are rate-limited to reduce brute-force and spam abuse.
7. Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time; continued use of Amico Haus after a change means you accept the updated policy.
